Apple has added three new Taiwan-based suppliers for its upcoming iPad 3, according to “DigiTimes” (http://macte.ch/SizDZ): Novatek Microelectronics, Richtek Technology, Capella Microsystems (Taiwan) and Integrated Memory Logic (iML).
iML is believed to have landed orders of its integrated programmable gamma/Vcom buffer solutions from the iPad 3 supply chain. Other IC solutions that have been, or are likely to be, added to the iPad 3 supply chain include Novatek’s LCD driver ICs, Capella’s ambient light sensors and Richtek’s integrated power management ICs, says “DigiTimes.”
Depending on which report you believe, the next generation of the Apple tablet will launch late this year or in the first quarter of 2010.
