Fanhattan, the entertainment discovery service that allows users to browse and watch on-demand movies and TV shows from the top digital media services, has announced a new, free version that integrates Facebook and Twitter into Fanhattan for iPad. The new features allow users to discover and share TV and movie recommendations from their most trusted, sought after critics: their friends. Additionally, movies and TV episodes in the VUDU library are now available as a default on-demand service, increasing the library of content and consumer choice.

Metaversal Studios has released Elemites, a real-time scrolling strategy game. The free app offers an array of magical spells the player can use to power up their Elemite minions and blast their foes across three game worlds.

Jerry Monteiro has unveiled Timesheet & Motor Vehicle Log Book app for iOS. If you’re an IT consultant or contractor who charges for your time and you travel from site to site, then this is an US$0.99 app designed to help you keep track of the hours you’ve spent in addition to logging the motor vehicle mileage. The motor vehicle log book keeps all the information you need as required by the Taxation Office.

Dragons Rage, a new US$1.99 app launched by Touch Village, is an action-arcade game where players take the place of an angry dragon as they fight to defeat enemies using the movement of their mobile device.

Castle Builders is debuting two new BooClips apps for the iPad of Bible stories from the Old Testament; Creation and Cain and Abel. Animated by The Kids Bible Company, the digital Bible books narrate Biblical stories to children, using animation, video clips and rich graphics from the Animated Kids Bible stories DVD series.

Monkey Prism has published Riley and the Magical Laundry Basket, a new interactive children’s book for toddlers. The $1.99 app contains 10 story pages, each with a myriad of touchable objects.

Jingaz has developed iRelax Meditation — Yoga Nidra, a $1.99 app for guided meditation for the iPad, iPod and iPhone. Bringing an ancient ritual into the 21st century, it offers relaxing guided meditation sessions with recordings and a commissioned orchestral score. With each session varying in length and content, the app contains five sessions, each made up of a combination of the core themes.

WhirlWhim and Digital Media Interactive are offering the digital release of the children’s book series, “The Baffelgagging Blundernagging Brothers” written by Aaron Mason and Doug Warr,. The full version features three hours of read-along entertainment, educational games with 19 levels, animation, narration by an all-star cast, and an original score. Blundernagging Brothers 2.0 is free and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Books category. The free app comes with three chapters and seven game levels. A $2.99 in-app-purchase opens up three hours of read-along entertainment with six additional chapters and 12 additional game levels.

Body-Pro has created NutriScanner 1.0, their OCR scanner for iOS devices. Consumers can photograph any standard NLEA label and have their iPhone scan and read the nutrient information on the label. All the fundamental food nutrition attributes are extracted including serving size, weight, calories, fat, carbohydrates and protein. The artificial intelligence even let’s you know which attributes it is confident it found in the photo.

Fortunate Bear has cooked up Black Maria 1.0, a hearts card game for the iPhone and iPod touch. It’s a free card game where the goal is to take the fewest number of point cards, hearts and the queen of spades, while forcing your opponents to take as many as possible.

Andreas Stocker has rolled out My Photo Memo 1.0, a card matching game for iOS devices. The $0.99 app gives kids of all ages a new way to test their concentration and memory skills. Players try to match the pairs of cards as quickly as they can, challenging their concentration skills because they must remember where each card is to find its match. My Photo Memo awards points for each set of cards found, but deducts points for each incorrect pair.

MindConnex Learning has announced the third installment of its Shakespeare in Bits app series for iPad, In the $14.99 app, Shakespeare’s comedy is brought to life on the Apple tablet with three hours of high-resolution animation and a professional audio soundtrack. Each Shakespeare In Bits play is presented side-by-side with completely unabridged text.

Beanheads Consulting has released Photo Folder 1.0 for iOS. The $0.99 app provides users with photo organization tools including personalized folders and filters for photo finding. The Photo Folder app allows users to create personalized folders to quickly organize their photo library.
