Rumors: goodbye to the iPod shuffle, iPod classic?

RumorsGraphic.jpg

Here are the latest rumors circulating in the Apple blogosphere:

“It seems that the “product transition” Apple mentioned on the last earnings call could very well be within the iPod line. Specifically, if you want to buy an iPod shuffle or iPod classic from Apple, you should do it sooner rather than later. We’ve heard those two iPods are getting the axe this year.” — “TUAW” (http://www.tuaw.com)

“Ten more European Union countries should soon be getting access to the iTunes Music Store, according to a music industry source in touch with Polish newspaper Rzeczpospolita. Only Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic are mentioned by name. Apple though is said to be essentially ready to go with the expansion; a separate source suggests an October launch, which could in theory coincide with the company’s October 4th press event or follow sometime thereafter.” — “MacNN” (http://www.macnn.com)

“We were sent this video anonymously earlier this evening. The tipster says it shows the iPhone 5.” — “Cult of Mac” (http://macte.ch/EG2qk)

“As Apple’s October 4th event approaches, two of Apple’s announcements have been revealed in Apple’s internal inventory system. The first is a new iPod touch. Three new iPod touch models have appeared in the system with the codename N81A. N81 is the codename for the fourth-generation black iPod touch, so the A likely represents the string of the three new white models. A device that we first revealed proof of plans for with a white fourth generation iPod touch front-plate. Since there are only new three iPod touch models — at this time — it’s likely that the black models won’t be updated. This also likely means the storage capacities will stay at their current 8GB, 32GB, and 64GB capacities.” — “9to5Mac” (http://www.9to5Mac.com)
