Sprite Labs has announced Talking Zack, the Zombie 1.0, the second of the series of their 3D interactive character apps for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. In the US$0.99 app, Zack, the Zombie is back from the dead, just in time for Halloween. He repeats what users say in his dark voice and interacts with users.

Forsefield has announced That 3D Mask App 1.0 for iOS devices. The $2.99 app generates a 3D mask in the device’ viewfinder. Screen shots can be taken, altered with the 3D masks, and saved to the photo gallery and shared with friends or viewed later.

Nuclear Nova Software has introduced ASCII Art for the iPhone and iPod touch. The $2.99 generator converts digital pictures into text art. You can output art to black/white text with a user editable character set to adjust the letters, numbers, and symbols to be used.

Rubel has launched Real Drum 1.0 for the iPhone. The $1.99 “makes a real drum kit out of your device” and includes professional hi-fi sounds.

Binary Formations has unveiled Home Inventory Mobile Backup, a free companion app for its home inventory management application for the Mac, Home Inventory. Home Inventory Mobile Backup backs your home inventory up to your iPhone, iPod and/or iPad for safekeeping.

Anystone Technologies has presented Anytube The app is designed to save time when watching iTunes U videos and podcasts by playing them back up to two times faster. It tells you how long it will take to watch a video clip at the desired speed. Anytube is a universal app for iPhone and iPad and is available in a paid version ($3.99) and an ad-supported free version.

Electric Pocket has scared up SpookyTones, its Halloween version of the MailTones app that gives iPhone users a collection of spooky email alert sounds.

The new $0.99 Witches’ Brew game, you help a witch collect the correct ingredients for her spells. But make sure you avoid the mushroom and the voodoo doll while you master all the potions.

Encyclopaedia Britannica says its encyclopedia is now available for the iPad. The Encyclopaedia Britannica App gives mobile users the ability to find information and explore subjects. Users have two choices to access the app.  The first choice is available for free and gives users complimentary high-resolution images, maps, access to 100 free articles plus the first 100 words of every article, and the Britannica “link map.” With the second choice, for $1.99 a month, iPad users can upgrade their app to include full access to every article in the Encyclopaedia, including more than 80,000 articles in a fully searchable database, the ability to download information to read offline, save and send articles, store favorites and search history and more.
