Apple eighth most valuable global brand

The 2011 Interbrand Best Global Brands listing ranks Apple as the eighth most valuable brand globally with an estimated total value of US$33.49 billion, reports “Bloomberg” (http://macte.ch/PNIVB). Our favorite tech company is ahead of Disney and HP on the chart.

Ahead of Apple in the top 10 — with estimated total value — are, in descending order, Coca-Cola ($71.9 billion), IBM ($70 billion), Microsoft ($60 billion), Google ($55 billion), GE ($43 billion), McDonald’s ($36 billion) and Intel ($35 billion).

Apple jumped from the number 17 spot to number eight in a year. Interbrand says Apple increased its brand value by 58% year-over-year.
