For three consecutive weeks, Apple has failed to make good on its promissory to restock indirect channel partners with fresh inventory of the existing US$99 Apple TV product, reports “AppleInsider” (http://www.appleinsider.com), quoting unnamed “people familiar with matter.”
According to rumors, Apple will unveil a new Apple TV along with the iPad 3 at next week’s March 7 media event. Whether that’s the case or not, it’s widely expected that the next rev of the set-top box will offer high resolution, 1080p support at last. The Apple TV was last updated in late 2010 with a completely redesigned model based on Apple’s custom processor and a version of iOS.
