Less than two hours tickets for the 2012 Worldwide Developer Conference have sold out. WWDC will be held June 11-15 at San Francisco’s Moscone West.
Tickets to WWDC 2012 cost US$15,99. Last year’s event took 12 hours to sell out; this year, tickets went on sale shortly after 8:30 a.m. Eastern, and the “Sold Out” banner appeared before 10:30 a.m. Eastern, notes “Macworld” (http://macte.ch/RdTGG).
Apple also opened nominations for the Apple Design Awards (https://developer.apple.com/wwdc/awards/). The company says they “recognize state of the art iOS and OS X apps that reflect the very best in design, innovation, and technology adoption.”
Finally, Apple has also revealed details of a scholarship program for the event. Approximately 150 students chosen Apple will be able to go to the event for free. Students must apply by May 2.
