Apple has hired ex-AMD engineer John Bruno, the man who gets a great deal of credit for the Trinity APU, reports “SlashGear” (http://macte.ch/MM77S).

The Trinity APU is a second generation A-Series Accelerated Processing Unit (APU). According to AMD, APUs “allow you to configure small-form-factor, long-battery-life PCs that consumers crave, while enabling the powerful, next-generation visual experiences that can set you apart and help create a competitive advantage in a hyper-competitive market.”

Bruno is now “System Architect at Apple” according to a recent update to his LinkedIn profile. However, the exact nature of his role at the Cupertino company hasn’t been detailed, notes “SlashGear.”
