Velocomp (http://www.ibikesports.com) has announced the iBike Moto, ane iPhone mounting system for motorcycles featuring a mount, water and shock resistant case, and app with maps, fuel gauge and more.

The iBike Moto is designed to make it possible for motorcyclists to enjoy their iPhone while riding on the open road. However, it’s not designed for off road riding.

The iBike Moto features a machined aluminum mount designed by Techmount, a motorcycle specialist.  The mount attaches to 7/8-inch (22mm) to 1¼-inch (32mm) motorcycle handlebars and swivels 360 degrees for maximum visibility. The metal mount incorporates a bolt and slide for a secure attachment.

In addition, the iBike Moto also includes a new fully-enclosed water/shock resistant case with a Click-Latch cover that protects and secures the iPhone. Precision-engineered to reduce exposure to the elements, the small one-side opening of the case makes loading quick and easy, delivering maximum protection for your Apple smartphone, according to the folks at Velocomp.

The iBike Moto app (free at the Apple App Store) acts as both a digital dashboard, measuring speed/distance/time/maps, and also as a fuel gauge. The app also keeps track of all your rides, showing you a map of the route you’ve traveled and a summary of your speed, distance, and time.

The iBike Moto has a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of US$79.95. It’s available at select Apple Retail Stores, http://store.apple.com/us, Amazon.com, and http://www.ibikesports.com .
