mLogic is shipping its mLink Thunderbolt expansion chassis. It enables PCIe cards such as RAID controllers, 10GigE, Fibre Channel and audio/video capture cards to connect to Mac desktop and laptop computers via Thunderbolt.
The mLink supports half-length, Thunderbolt-aware PCIe cards and sports two high-performance 10Gbit/second Thunderbolt ports. It also supports daisy-chaining of up to six Thunderbolt peripherals.
According to mLogic CEO Roger Mabon, the mLink is the industry’s smallest (8.1 x 2.75 x 5.9 inches) and lightest (two pounds) Thunderbolt expansion chassis. It’s available at a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of US$399 from authorized mLogic resellers and at www.mlogic.com/products/mlink .
