Feral Interactive has announced that the historical strategy game Napoleon: Total War-Gold Edition will be released on the Mac this spring. Developed by Creative Assembly and published by SEGA for Windows, the game is the latest Mac installment of the Total War series to be launched by Feral Interactive and follows the hugely successful Empire: Total War — Gold Edition.
Here’s how the game is described: “Napoleon: Total War — Gold Edition is a sophisticated combination of real-time battle tactics and turn-based political strategy that immerses players in a meticulous re-creation of the Napoleonic Wars that wracked Europe in the early 19th century.
“The game gives players the choice to either command Napoleon’s Grande Armée and attempt to surpass the achievements of the Little Corporal himself, or else to lead one of the Four Great Powers: Great Britain, Austria, Prussia and Russia allied against him. In ‘Napoleon’s Campaigns’ and the ‘Campaigns of the Coalition,’ players must combine political cunning with military endeavor in order to lead their nation to victory across the campaign maps of Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.
“In addition to the campaign modes, Napoleon: Total War — Gold Edition features “Napoleon’s Battles”, where players can fight famous battles such as Austerlitz, Trafalgar and Waterloo in the same conditions faced by Napoleon.”
The Mac version of Napoleon: Total War – Gold Edition comprises the base game and all the game updates, improvements and downloadable content, including The Peninsula Campaign, which sees Napoleon battle for control of the Iberian Peninsula against the allied forces of Spain, the United Kingdom and Portugal. It also includes three unit packs, the Imperial Eagle Pack, the Coalition Battle Pack and the Heroes of the Napoleonic Wars Pack.
Pricing, system requirements and a mini-site dedicated to Napoleon: Total War – Gold Edition for the Mac will be revealed closer to the release date. A trailer for Napoleon: Total War – Gold Edition is available now on Feral’s YouTube channel (http://tinyurl.com/aeefl6r).
