Foxconn, the manufacturer of iPhone and iPad, among other products, will allow workers to elect union representatives for the first time, reports “The Telegraph” (http://tinyurl.com/aqop3qp).
The firm said it would hold elections for a chairman and 20 members of its Federation of Labour Unions Committee every five years. Taiwan-based Foxconn employs around 1.2 million workers across China. The move comes in response to pressure on Foxconn from Apple and its own workers over pay and conditions, notes “The Telegraph.”
