Epson has announced the WorkForce DS-40, its first wireless, portable document scanner. Weighing just over a pound, it supports scanning directly to a Mac, PC or mobile devices, as well as offering scan-to-cloud capabilities.

Regarding the latter, the WorkForce DS-40 can scan to GoogleDrive, Evernote, OneNote, and more. Since it’s powered by a battery or USB source, you can take the scanner on the road.

The WorkForce DS-40 allows you to scan documents up to 8.5 x 36 inches to receipts, business cards, or rigid ID cards. It boasts correction tools such as auto-sizing, enhancing text quality, correct image skew, and removing punch holes. Its TWAIN driver makes it compatible with most third-party software.

The WorkForce DS-40 will be available this summer at a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of US$179.99 at major resellers, office retailers, and directly at Epson.com. Go to http://tinyurl.com/m5ozlhn for more info.
