Amped Wireless (www.ampedwireless.com) has launched two new range extenders that are reportedly the first to provide up to 12,000 square feet of Wi-Fi coverage and up to 1750Mbps of combined Wi-Fi speed.
The REA20v2 and the RE1750A are high power range extenders designed for large homes and offices with multiple users and a need for more Wi-Fi coverage. The REA20v2 is an update to the originalREA20 range extender with more output power, new and improved components and better technology for improved signal reliability and more overall coverage, according to Lacey Limbrick, brand/marketing manager at Amped Wireless.
A high power AC1200 Wi-Fi Range Extender with dual band capabilities, the REA20v2 features eight high power amplifiers, two high gain dual band antennas for up to 800mW of total Wi-Fi output power. The REA20v2 can be directly connected to up to five devices via the built in gigabit wired ports. It also features one USB 2.0 storage port for file sharing.
For the most demanding Internet users, Amped Wireless has developed the RE1750A, a high power AC1750 Wi-Fi Range Extender. Faster and more powerful than the REA20v2, the RE1750A has 12 high power amplifiers and three high gain, dual band antennas. This enables the RE1750A to deliver speeds up to 450Mbps on the 2.4GHz frequency and up to 1300Mbps on the 5GHz frequency. The RE1750A is also built with five gigabit wired ports and one USB 2.0 storage port, says Limbrick. Both range extenders are capable of boosting any Wi-Fi Router’s signal to cover up to an additional 12,000 square feet.
The REA20v2 and RE1750A will be available to customers in early 2015.
