To display an iPad in public, it has to be locked properly. Maclocks (http://www.maclocks.com) has debuted the US$139.99 Rokku, an iPad enclosure with dual locks and a “rock solid” frame.
It sports a recessed frame for a full tamper proof enclosure. Made of industrial strength aluminum, it is extremely lightweight yet durable and allows for full cable management, according to the folks at Maclock. It’s designed to, among other things, help secure retail enclosure for Apple Pay, Apple’s new payment system. Crucial for that environment is the blocked access to the On/Off and volume buttons and limited audio port access while still allowing for charging.
Designed to be installed on any flat surface, the Rokku iPad enclosure can be mounted to walls and counters. The rear frame has the standard VESA pattern that can be attached to Maclocks’ full line of mounts. As with all tablet kiosks from Maclocks, the unit can be docked in either portrait or landscape mode.
