Swiss National Bank increases its stake in Apple

The Swiss National Bank has raised its stake in Apple, increasing its U.S. equity holdings to $38.6 billion, reports Bloomberg (http://tinyurl.com/pcgk62g).

Switzerland’s central bank owned 9.4 million shares in the Cupertion, California-based company on June 30, according to a regulatory filing made to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. That compared with 8.9 million shares at the end of March, a 5.5% increase, according to Bloomberg calculations.

According to the SEC data, the SNB held shares in more than 2,500 U.S.-listed companies, valued at $38.6 billion. A quarter earlier, it held U.S. shares worth $37.5 billion.
