iHome has released the iSP5 SmartPlug, the first product in the company’s new iHome Control series.
Named by Apple as a launch partner to make the first products compatible with their new HomeKit smart home technology, the iHome iSP5 SmartPlug is among the first HomeKit-enabled products now available to consumers on iHome.com and Amazon.com for US$39.99. Additional retail rollout will be hitting in the coming weeks in both the USA and Canada.
The iHome iSP5 SmartPlug allows consumers to use the free iOS iHome Control app to turn on and off small appliances such as lamps, fans, air conditioning and other home devices with ease from any location. iOS users may also use Siri to remotely control their devices. The design ecosystem of iHome Control allows users the ability to group several iHome SmartPlugs into individual “scenes” to manipulate multiple connected devices within a home.
Additionally the iHome Control app allows for the creation of “custom scenes” to control multiple SmartPlugs with a single command, or to create schedules for complete home automation capability.
