Apple cuts iPhone prices in Brazil, but hikes iPad prices

Following Apple’s latest product launch, the company cut iPhone prices in Brazil, reports Folha de São Paulo, a daily newspaper based in Brazil.

The iPhone 5s (16 GB) now costs BRL 2,300 (about US$597) in the country, down 8% from BRL 2,500. The price for the 32 GB version has been cut from BRL 2,900 to BRL 2,500, says Folha de São Paulo — as noted by BrightWire,.com, a global investment newswire. The iPhone 6 now costs BRL 3,200 in the 16 GB and BRL 3,500 in the 64GB version.

On the other hand, the iPad Air (16GB), which was initially sold for BRL 2,500, now costs BRL 3,500  in Brazil.
