DEVONtechnologies has updated all editions of its Internet search and research tool, DEVONagent. Available in three editions, it’s a smart internet search agent.
DEVONagent queries search engines and crawls web sites. It then post-filters the results and presents the results in a multitude of ways. The new version adds new Safari scripts for DEVONagent Pro, plays videos fullscreen, and updates two plugins. The updates are free and recommended for all users.
DEVONagent Pro and Express 3.9.3 bring support for the new App Transport Security. The updates add some compatibility fixes for the latest Mac operating system, too.
Three new scripts for Safari let users download images and other linked items using DEVONagent Pro. Tabs can also be opened with DEVONagent Pro via the global Scripts menu.
In addition, DEVONagent Pro plays videos embedded into web pages fullscreen. Links in PDF reports don’t rely on data detectors anymore ,and version 3.9.3 is more compatible to some modern web sites. All three editions of DEVONagent update also the Stack Overflow and EUR-Lex plugins. The visually impaired will like the improved VoiceOver support. DEVONagent Express and Pro prevent the Mac from sleeping while they’re conducting a search.
All editions of DEVONagent require an Intel-based Mac and OS X 10.8.5 or later. They can be downloaded from www.devontechnologies.com and be test-driven for free before they need to be licensed. All editions of DEVONagent are also available in the Mac App Store. DEVONagent Pro and Express can be bought as part of bundles together with DEVONthink in DEVONtechnologies’ online shop.
