OWC (https://eshop.macsales.com) has acquired Akitio, a maker of external computer storage products and accessories, with an emphasis on Thunderbolt 3 technology. OWC’s Woodstock, Illinois facility will serve as worldwide headquarters for all OWC brands, including Akitio.
The Akitio teams will remain onboard in their California and international locations. Customer support will remain first-class across the board for all existing lines including Akitio brand products, according to Akitio CEO Tommy Chen.
