Since I can’t cover everything, I’ll often direct your attention to articles from various other sources worth your time.

° Personally, I don’t care what Elon Musk thinks. But according to the LA Times, the Telsa CEO told Apple CEO that if Apple bought Tesla, he wanted to be CEO of Apple. This reportedly brought a profane reply from Cook. Both CEOs deny this, and I don’t believe it, but that’s an allegation in “Power Play: Tesla, Elon Musk and the Bet of the Century” by Wall Street Journal reporter Tim Higgins.

° From 9to5 Mac: There have been multiple reports of M1 MacBook screen cracks occurring during normal usage of the machines, with both the M1 MacBook Air and M1 MacBook Pro affected.

° From the South China Morning Post: Siri, Apple’s virtual assistant, felt the wrath of Chinese social media users this week after the artificial intelligence system was unable to read out China’s tally of gold medal wins at the Tokyo Olympics due to an apparent technical glitch.

° From MacRumors: Apple has started accepting App Store and iTunes payments in India using UPI and Rupay cards and Net Banking.

° From The Verge: Apple is asking employees in certain locations to share their vaccination status, but not saying those who aren’t vaccinated won’t be able to return.

° From Reuters: Apple supplier TSMC says that some of its production lines in southern Taiwan were hit by a contamination of gases used in the chipmaking process.

° From Variety: Singer Lance Bass, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak and “The Masked Singer” executive producer Craig Plestis are among the names behind “Unicorn Hunters,” a crowd-financing competition series now being shopped for domestic distribution.
