Apple’s rumored “Apple Glasses” — an augmented reality/virtual reality headset — could sport a high resolution micro-OLED display with up to 3,000 pixels-per-inch, according to Korea’s The Elec.
The article says the tech giant has requested a sample of a display component called a fine metal mask (FMM) from the South Korean company APS Holdings. The company wants samples of an FMM that can deliver 3,000 ppi high-resolution displays for use in virtual reality (VR) headsets, according to The Elec.

When it comes to Apple Glasses, such a device will arrive in 2022 or 2023, depending on which rumor you believe. It will be a head-mounted display. Or may have a design like “normal” glasses. Or it may be eventually be available in both. The Apple Glasses may or may not have to be tethered to an iPhone to work.
