AUSTIN, Texas – February 3, 1998 – Metrowerks Inc. (NASDAQ: MTWKF,
TSE/ME:MWK) announced today they have begun shipping Release 4 of
CodeWarrior for Palm OS(TM), the latest version of the companys popular
set of development tools for building Palm Computing(R) platform
applications for the 3Com PalmPilot Organizer, IBM WorkPad PC Companion,
and Franklin Day Planner(R) The Palm Computing platform is an open
architecture consisting of the reference hardware design, Palm OS,
HotSync(R) conduit data synchronization technology, platform component
tools, and software interface capabilities to support hardware add-ons.
Hosted on Windows(R) 95, Windows NT(R), and Mac(R) OS, Release 4 of
CodeWarrior for Palm OS boasts many new features, including: C++ support;
increased support for stand-alone code resources and multi-segment
applications; debugger console, which allows the user to communicate with
the target device; support for debugging directly from the IDE; and, most
importantly, a greatly improved version of Windows-hosted Constructor for

graphical user interfaces simply by dragging objects from a palette and

application.
CodeWarrior for Palm OS is a tightly integrated development environment
complete with editor, project manager, C/C++ compiler, source- and
assembly-level debugger, direct-to-device debugger, stand-alone assembler,
GUI layout tools, and linker. It allows developers to take advantage of the
enhanced TCP/IP support in the Palm OS 2.0 and design new applications to
quickly and easily synchronize Palm OS data over corporate intranets and
in-house networks.
“Weve greatly expanded the capabilities of our Palm Computing platform
development tools with the introduction of Release 4 of CodeWarrior for
