FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Introductory Pricing of $9.95 for New Digital Darkroom (TM) Software Is A
Hit with Consumers
MicroFrontier apologizes for 3-day delay in availability at their Web site
June 10, 1998–Digital Darkroom, MicroFrontier’s new cross-platform image
editor just released on June 5th has already proven to be a big success.
“Traffic on our web site increased more than 1,000%,” said Keith Woodard,
MicroFrontier’s President. “We sincerely apologize to those who tried to
download it over the weekend. A technical glitch delayed the proper posting
of the program and the special pricing. It has been corrected and we hope
people will take the time to return to the site to get the program.”
Digital Darkroom is designed as a very easy-to-use program for creating or
modifying images. It lets novice users produce professional-looking results
without having to spend days studying a manual. By simply clicking on
previews, users can change brightness and contrast, blur and sharpen,
despeckle, add or reduce noise, and vary the overall color of an image. And
the AutoMagic (R) menu makes the most-used adjustments–Auto Enhance and
Auto Contrast–as simple as a single click of the mouse. Digital Darkroom’s
broad functionality makes it a very useful image editor, while its
exceptional ease of use makes it practical for casual or novice users. It
is particularly valuable for those users with a new scanner or digital
camera. Digital Darkroom supports third-party Photoshop-compatible scanner,
digital camera and other import plug-ins, as well as export and filter
effects. “Digital Darkroom’s standard price will be $49.95,” said Woodard,
“but we’ve introduced it at a very aggressive $9.95 price to make it
affordable for as many people as possible.”
The program has already won praise from the Shareware Junkies
(http://www.sharewarejunkies.com/), who awarded it three stars for
performance and five stars for user friendliness, cost, east of
installation and support.
Digital Darkroom is available now for purchase on the Internet at
(http://www.microfrontier.com) and at other software sale sites on the Web,
or a CD-ROM may be purchased directly from MicroFrontier. The CD-ROM
contains both Windows and Macintosh versions of the program as well as a
selection of sample pictures and image catalogs.
