MARKZWARE INTRODUCES iScout ™!
iScout Offers Native Document Checking and Routing of Failed or Passed
Files Based on User-Definable Custom Rules!
SANTA ANA, CA., August 5, 1998 — Markzware Software, Inc. the worldwide
leaders in preflighting and the innovators of the multi-award winning
FLIGHTCHECK(R) software, will be introducing a brand new product entitled
iScout! iScount will be demonstrated at Markzware’s booth #1643 during the
1998 Seybold Publishing Convention held in San Francisco September 1-3.
iScout is the first product created from Markzware’s new MarkzONE(tm)
development engine. iScout examines job elements in native documents and
separates the files appropriately within any prepress workflow system such
as Scitex Brisque and Agfa Apogee. Built into iScout is technology that
will process documents created from QuarkXPress, PageMaker, FreeHand,
Illustrator, FrameMaker, Multi-Ad Creator, EPS, PDF, TIFF, JPEG, HTML and
XML.
iScout can be controlled by user defineable rules for extremely quick
preflighting decisions and a more efficient workflow. iScout is compatible
with Windows ’95, ’98, NT, and Macintosh OS 8.x operating systems. iScout
comes pre-configured with an extensive set of over 300 ready-to-use rules
to check for prepress errors, such as: use of RGB colors, missing fonts,
and incorrect image resolutions. Specific custom rules can also be easily
created based on simple text scripting allowing the number of possible
rules to be limitless.
A simple example of how iScout can be used would be placing a job into a
hot folder upon which iScout will examine the job and based upon the custom
checking criteria, route the failed files to various workstations. For
example, suppose you had a folder of 1,000 images and you just wanted to
separate out all the RGB images. iScout will locate the precise offending
files and move them to a designated work folder, at which time the images
can be converted to CMYK and resubmitted back into the workflow.
