MDG Announces Powerful, Simple, Single Application eCommerce Solution
Bartlett, IL May 3, 1999 – MDG Computer Services, Inc. today
announced an eCommerce solution that supports Shopping Carts and
real-time credit card authorization for MacOS and Windows NT.
WS4D/eCommerce includes everything needed in a single application:
Web Server, CGI, Relational Database, Shopping Carts, StoreFronts,
Products and Real-time credit card processing”, everything needed to
setup shop on the Internet.

database, eCommerce server, Products database, Order Database and
credit card authorizer. For those that are familiar with HTML, the
look and feel of the Storefront can be 100% customized from HTML”.
Single Application Does It All
WS4D/eCommerce – One vendor with a self contained solution! No finger
pointing to get it working! One call for support questions. Only one
application open on the computer system to reduce operational
overhead and increase throughput. For those running a MacOS web
server, WS4D/eCommerce can run as a CGI to your existing web server
without any additional software. For those running Windows NT or
those that do not want to run eCommerce as a CGI, WS4D/eCommerce can
run alongside your existing web server by listening on a different
port number.

Storefronts
Two versions of WS4D/eCommerce are available. A single store option –
which allows you to run a single store and an unlimited store option,
which allows you to run unlimited storefronts. Each StoreFront can be
configured with different shipping options, sales tax options, credit
card processing options and still have the HTML look and feel. Both
versions allow hundreds of thousands of records to be added. A
flexible Import Manager allows importing of your existing data.
Once an order is completed, the order can automatically be saved to
disk, emailed to merchant and a confirmation email can be sent to
person placing the order. Exporting orders to Quicken, QuickBooks,
Excel, AppleWorks, MacAuthorize and PCAuthorize is included.
Credit Card Authorization
Included with WS4D/eCommerce is support for AuthorizeNet
(http://www.AuthorizeNet.com) for real-time credit card processing
(included in single and unlimited store options). Using
AuthorizeNet’s SSL web server, AuthorizeNet will collect the credit
card information, approve or decline the transaction and notify
WS4D/eCommerce after completion. The whole process take 2-4 seconds.
WS4D/eCommerce is one of the first eCommerce solutions that directly
supports the “Silent Post” feature of Authorizenet. This feature
allows Authorizenet to contact your database after a credit card has
been approved or denied and to update the order file with
authorization or decline reasons.
Products Search Engine Accessible
All items entered into the products file can easily be published to
the most popular search engines AUTOMATICALLY. Publish a single URL
to the most popular Search Engines and all your products will be
indexed in the Search Engine. Each product can contain unique Meta
Description and Meta Keywords. A log for each item will track the
number of hits coming from search engines and history of accesses. A
log file will also track when the Search Engines spider your products.

Availability
Currently, WS4D/eCommerce and Web Server 4D 3.0 are in beta testing

WS4D/eCommerce Developer (Source Code) is not available at this time.
We are working on additional documentation and other enhancements for
our Developer customers.
