announced the 2.0 release of SourceOffSite Professional Edition. The
product is the first cross-platform Internet access tool for
Microsoft Visual SourceSafe. With SourceOffSite, distributed

database using any TCP/IP connection.

most SourceSafe operations in a familiar fashion. SourceOffSite
supports IDE integration, giving developers access to the
SourceOffSite Client commands from within the Visual Studio
environment. The product offers encryption and compression to protect
and speed data transfer across the Internet. Common SourceSafe
operations are up to twelve times faster using SourceOffSite than
using the SourceSafe Explorer over a RAS connection.
