FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Dearborn, MI — June 8, 1999 — Still sitting on the fence? Want to
come but can’t justify the expense? Just waiting for that last minute
excuse? Well, the time has come. The MacHack sessions list is being
finalized.

The sessions list for MacHack: The Annual Conference for Leading Edge
Developers is available today on the conference website
(http://www.machack.com/). The conference takes place from 12:01 AM
June 24 through the evening of June 26. Plan to arrive on the 23rd.

The Meat on OS Issues

Mac OS 8.6, OS X, Palm OS, they’re all here. Mac OS coverage from
inside Infinite Loop is of course essential and this year is no
different, but the way to Mac OS X is paved with NeXTStep and we have
the developers to prove it. MacHack has scheduled NeXTStep veterans
to cover these core issues. Learn to support this once and future OS
from masters like Andrew Stone. Palm OS coverage is courtesy of Palm
insiders, Jesse Donaldson and Steve Lemke.

Programming Technologies

OS issues aren’t your bag? What about Applescript and Codewarrior
sessions? Cal Simone brings his Applescript expertise to the 1999
conference and Metrowerks’ Berardino Baratta carries the details of
release 5.

A Very Special MacHack

Maybe getting up close and personal is more your thing. Then watch
coding legend Darin Adler interview fellow coding legends Mike Neil
and Eric Traut whose work includes some of the most successful
emulator software of all time.

Watch Out, That Code is Live

The Hack Contest is back. Crack your knuckles, stretch your eyelids
and settle in for 72 hours of the most intense coding you’ve ever
experienced. Be ready for battle with the greatest minds in
programming today since everyone vies for the coveted Victor A-Trap
Award for Best Hack.

Time Running Out

There is still time for coders of all skill levels to join the
activities at MacHack, but since the conference is June 23-26 you’d
better decide quick. The decision should be easy with the strong
program that the conference committee has put together. See you there.

Secure online registration is available at the conference website. A
PDF is available of the fax/snail mail form for those interested in a
more traditional registration.

The MacHack planning committee is putting the final touches on the
overall conference plan which can be examined at the conference
website (http://www.machack.com/).

MacHack, in its fourteenth year, remains centered around cutting edge
software development. Each year the conference brings together
well-known names in the software business, as well as many students
and upstarts whose names we’ll know soon enough, and fosters
interaction between all of the attendees. MacHack’s uniqueness
derives from the informal feel and the LIVE coding that occurs
around-the-clock during the conference.

MacHack 1999 will take place June 23-26 in Dearborn, Michigan.
