What is it?
mp3voodoo lets you organize, browse, select and play your valuable mp3 files.
As mp3 files get more popular, the increasing number of files have to be
organized to find and play them easily. mp3voodoo collects the data from
your mp3 files including id3 information as title, artist, album, year,
genre and lets you add cover images for every album. The new version
handles multiple media types and allows you to transfer playlists directly
to SoundApp and MacAMP – many new features help you to organize and handle
your files.
Features:
MP3 Collection handling:
– Create multiple collection databases
– Add files from various sources as CDRs and HD
– Add cover images to album folders
– Two views available: List view and cover view (mosaic of cover images)
– User customizable columns that display all id3 information
– Quicksearch for both views lets you find a title in a snap
– Additional search window lets you search multiple criteria
– Sophisticated ID3V1.1 editor with automatic file renaming
– ID3V2.3 read support
– Export your database as text file for later use in database or
spreadsheet apps
– Label favorite titles with customizable color labels (as in the finder)
Advanced playlist handling:
– Drag and drop titles or albums from the collection to the playlist
– Reorder playlist titles just with a drag
– Scramble playlists
– The playlist constructor lets you create playlists with a few clicks
– Display “Limit markers” at given memory or time intervals (e.g. draw
markers every 650MB)
– Manage many playlists
– Third party software support (see below)
MP3 player:
– uses Quicktime 4.0 as player engine or connects to other software (see below)
– displays cover image and file information
– time display (single remaining/elapsed, playlist remaining/elapsed, album
remaining/elapsed)
– scrolls title information
Third party software connectivity:
– Use MacAMP or SoundApp as your player (MacAMP not implemented, yet)
– Import and export playlists to MacAMP and SoundApp
– Transfer playlists directly to MacAMP or SoundApp
– Use NetCD to grab CD information directly from internet CDDB databases
– Drag and drop cover images from graphic apps to mp3voodoo
General:
– Change the look of mp3voodoo by using the build-in appearance editor
– Many shortcuts for adding titles to the playlist, browsing thru titles etc.
– Overall drag and drop support: From collection to playlist etc.
– Full screen mode available
– Desktop can be hidden

Known limitations:
– id3 version2 tags are read-only; mp3voodoo creates id3v1.1, only at the
moment

mp3voodoo is shareware. A single license costs $25 USD.
