Macworld Conference & Expo New York On Record-Setting Pace For 2000 Event
Pre registration up 133%, exhibit space soars 25% over last year
Framingham, MA. – July 17, 2000-IDG World Expo, owners and producers of the
annual Macworld Conference & Expo taking place at NY’s Jacob Javits
Convention Center, July 18 – 21, announced record-breaking results and
revealing statistics from pre-show attendee registration and exhibitors
today.
As Apple and the Macintosh operating system prepare to take the center
stage of the IT industry, tens of thousands of top executives from Fortune
1000 companies and home users alike have registered to attend Macworld
Conference & Expo. These attendees have the opportunity to try out the
latest Macintosh products, software and services from leading Internet and

Some key points revealed by attendee pre-registration and exhibitor survey
results:
Pre registrations are up more than 133% over last year at this time, with
the strongest local promotional program beginning the week of July 17.
Exhibit space is up 25% over last year’s record-setting event.
Approximately 400 leading information technologies suppliers, such as
Apple, Microsoft, IBM, Canon, Hewlett-Packard, EPSON, Kodak, Nikkon are
exhibiting.
More than 50 companies will be exhibiting for the first time this year.
Attendees represent more than 70 different countries.
Major Internet players converging at the show – Netscape’s new
sponsorship partnership with Macworld; Earthlink increased their
presentation area by TWENTY-FIVE TIMES; and the first time presence of
E*Trade
More than half of pre-registered attendees are from outside of New York.
Large representation from Graphic Design/Creative Services,
Printing/Publishing, Education and Arts & Entertainment industries.
25% of pre-registrants are CxO-level or department heads.
More than 33% of all pre-registered attendees are from companies with
more than 100 people; 21% from organizations with 500 employees+.
