Iomega is expecting to start shipping its new line of disk drives on Thursday, according to the Wall Street Journal. The new drives — dubbed “Peerless” — have cartridges that store 10 GB or 20 GB of data and offer transfer rates of up to 15 MB/sec. In addition, the new drives supports modular connectivity, so you can link it to FireWire, USB, and SCSI computer interfaces. Pricing for the drive with a 20 GB cartridge has been set at US$399, with additional cartridges costing $199.
