A continued waning interest in desktop and laptop products, as well as related technologies, led attendance at last week’s PC Expo in New York to fall for the first time in the show’s 19-year history. About 50,000 people attended the three-day expo, down from 55,000 last year. In contrast, Macworld Expo New York, which is held in the same location, attracted 61,500 attendees last year. This year’s Macworld Expo New York takes place July 18-20 and is already showing signs of being a smaller show than last year, as many companies struggle financially. Adobe last week said it would not be exhibiting at Macworld Expo to cut costs.
