Canon today announced three new Bubble Jet printers and two new CanoScan scanners. The S330 is Canon’s newest entry-level printer, replacing the S300 and featuring borderless printing. The S530D and S830D are direct photo printers, allowing users to print directly from a digital camera’s memory card without a computer. Both the S530D and S830D feature 2400×1200 dpi printing, with the S530D employing a four-color system and the S830D featuring a six-color system. The S330 and S830D will ship in July for US$99 and $399, respectively; the S530D will follow in August for $249.
The CanoScan LiDE 20 and LiDE 30 are Canon’s latest consumer scanners, featuring a sleek design that’s just over an inch thick. The LiDE 20 features an optical scanning resolution of 600×1200 dpi, while the LiDE 30 features a 1200×2400 dpi resolution. Other features include a 48-bit analog-to-digital converter and “one-pass multi-scan” scanning, which allows users to scan multiple photographs simultaneously, with the scanner generating separate images for each. The CanoScan LiDE 20 and LiDE 30 will ship this month for $79 and $99, respectively.
