MindVision Software Releases FileStorm 1.5
Lincoln, NE — MindVision Software, the leading developer of software
delivery tools for Macintosh, today announced the release of FileStorm 1.5
and FileStorm Pro 1.5 for Mac OS X. The newest version of FileStorm adds
improved functionality, extensive customization capabilities, and increased
compatibility. Not only does this new version provide an extensive set of
capabilities not available in other disk image utilities, it is now also
the only tool that can create a disk image or CD on Mac OS X 10.2 that is
completely backwards-compatible on Mac OS X 10.1.
FileStorm and FileStorm Pro are easy to use tools designed to quickly
package and deliver Mac OS X software products – making it easier than ever
to create disk images, CD’s, and installers for electronic distribution.
FileStorm delivers the capability to easily control the look and feel of
disk images or CD’s with customized backgrounds, icon placement and much
more, all from a rich WYSIWYG visual user interface.
FileStorm 1.5 adds enhanced options for controlling the size, selection,
and alignment of icons on disk images. FileStorm disk images can now be
assigned multi-language license agreements that are displayed to the user
when the image is mounted. There are also more options for disk image
creation, including the ability to choose from multiple formats (DMG or
IMG), create read-only and read-only compressed images, and additionally
post-process encode (GZip, BZip, MacBinary, and BinHex) your images to make
them ready for downloading from your web site.
FileStorm 1.5 also features a much improved interface for disc burning that
supports additional burners, allows selection between multiple burners, and
controls burn speed, post-burn verification, ejection, and desktop mounting.
FileStorm Pro 1.5 installers are very flexible and have more options than
ever for customization. The installer look can now be tailored with a
custom installer background. Additionally, FileStorm installers and
uninstallers can be configured to execute shell scripts not only during
installation, but also at launch and at exit of the installer. Also, the
installer now performs much more extensive version checking of an existing
file before replacing it during installation.
