Yet another firm is entering fray in the online music download service. The UK’s Guardian reports that Coca-Cola will launch its own online music service in the UK next month. This will not be simply a marketing agreement, however, as Coca-Cola Great Britain plans on running its MyCokeMusic.com site in association with OD2, which was founded by Peter Gabriel and provides download services to BT’s Dotmusic, HMV, Ministry of Sound, Freeserve and MSN. The company says it will offer a catalog of over 250,000 songs from over 8,500 artists with the four major record labels represented. Pricing was not mentioned. Pricing has been set at 99p per track in the UK.
