LiveQuartz Image Editor,
the Free CoreImage Editor is now available in 1.5 version.
Paris – January, 2006 – Romain Piveteau today announces LiveQuartz Image
Editor 1.5, an update to the free CoreImage editor.
This update brings some new tools. It adds a new selecting tool named the
“lasso” and it adds linear and radial gradient tools.
LiveQuartz 1.5 also give the choice between two user interfaces. One where
you have layers at the left and filters at the right, and an other where
all these settings are inside a drawer at the right of the window.
This software is aimed at all people that need a powerful basic image
editor to easy manipulate layers, transparency and filters. It is localized
in English, Chinese, German, French, Russian and Persian.
LiveQuartz is built around layers and filters. Each photo dropped to its
window is converted into a new layer, which could have several filters
applied in real time. It used a one window interface without palette like
iLife applications. It has a brush, a duplication tool and an eraser tool.
Moreover, text can be added as a text layer. CoreImage filters appear in
LiveQuartz sorted by categories in a popup menu with their preview.
LiveQuartz’ file format is recognized by Spotlight.
LiveQuartz is a donationware, users are encouraged to donate to help the
author if they are satisfied by the product.
Note : Beta versions of LiveQuartz had been previously available for
download since Tiger Mac OS 10.4.0 release (early may, 2005) at
(http://www.rhapsoft.com) and it was one of the very first application to
be publicly available in Universal binaries (PowerPC/Intel).
