High Performance Drop-in Replacement IDE Available for Windows, Mac OS X
August 14, 2006. Edinburgh, Scotland based Runtime Revolution and
Austin, Texas based Daniels & Mara are pleased to announce the
release of Galaxy Studio, the high productivity complete scripting
IDE for Revolution. Galaxy Studio is a complete replacement for the
IDE and designed to maximize screen real estate (especially helpful
if you develop on a laptop). Here are some of the features you get
with Galaxy Studio:
* Galaxy Scripts. A tabbed script editor that supports up to ten open
editors in a single window. Galaxy Scripts also lets you do live
searches on scripts while you script.
* Awesome Auto-complete and Comments. Autocomplete support for any
method or handler lets you script faster with fewer errors. Have all
of your comments appear in a neatly organized column to the right of
your code.
* Reference and Lookup System. Right click on term an automatically
call up a definition. Right-click on the name of any handler in the
script editor to automatically call it up.
* Galaxy Toolbar and other Space Saving Tools. A space sensitive
toolbar that saves screen real estate – perfect for working on a
laptop. Intelligent Tools palette shrinks when there are no editable
stacks open. A new dock at the top of your screen takes up
significantly less space.
* Visual Preferences. Set the font size and type as well as the color
scheme for all Galaxy windows. Under Mac OS X, you can also hide both
the Mac menu bar and dock.
* Galaxy Debuging and Tracing. Galaxy Debugger. Galaxy Debugger is an
entirely new debugger that lives outside of your running project,
letting you more easily step through and trace issues in your code.
Available in Galaxy Lite or higher. All your array elements appear in
the Galaxy Variable Watcher as local, visual folders.
* Galaxy IDE Component Framework. Component framework allows any
third party vendor of Revolution tools make their tool recognized by
Galaxy. This feature is only available in Galaxy Studio or higher.
“Galaxy’s modern, streamlined IDE components help make short work of
creating even complex applications and really allow the powerful
Revolution engine to shine,” said user Troy Rollins, RPSystems, Ltd.
Galaxy Studio is available for Windows and Mac OS X (PPC and Intel)
for $96 directly from the RevSelect store. If you already own
Constellation. Galaxy Studio requires Revolution 2.7 or higher. Users
of Constellation can upgrade to Galaxy Studio for only $48.
