Swansea, United Kingdom – January 15, 2007. Reinvented Software is
proud to announce the release of Feeder 1.4 for Mac OS X. Feeder is
an application for creating and publishing RSS feeds and podcasts.
Version 1.4 introduces scheduled and background publishing, support
for Sparkle appcasts, editing improvements, improved usability, an
updated user interface and more.
Feeder makes working with RSS as straightforward as writing email and
is packed with thoughtful features such as templates, previews, HTML
editing and auto-completion. Feeder also has many features for
podcasters including full support for the iTunes RSS podcasting
extensions, drag and drop episode creation, an iTunes Store preview
and the ability to tag all popular podcast media files.
New in version 1.4, Feeder can schedule feeds to be published and
even wake the computer from sleep for unattended operation. All
publishing is now performed in the background leaving the application
free to do more work, very useful for podcasters uploading large
files.
Also new in version 1.4 is full support for the creation of Sparkle
appcast feeds. Sparkle is a popular framework developers can use to
provide self-updating applications. Appcasts are like podcasts for
applications. To enhance the experience, Sparkle introduced
additional RSS tags that can be used and all of these can now be
edited in Feeder. Feeder also shows a preview of how release notes
will look in Sparkle’s software update alert.
Finally, version 1.4 makes HTML editing simpler with the automatic
formatting of paragraphs and line breaks, includes usability
improvements for the first-time creation of feeds, Growl support,
AppleScript support, numerous other user interface improvements
including redesigned toolbar icons and various other minor changes.
Feeder requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 and QuickTime 7.0 or better. Feeder
1.4 costs $29.95 is and is a free upgrade for all registered Feeder
1.x users. Education discounts are also available.
