equinux announces VPN Tracker 5 and is looking for Beta testers

VPN Tracker 5 is redesigned from the ground up and numerous workflow
optimizations

San Mateo, USA / Munich, Germany – October 25th 2007: equinux has announced
the next generation of VPN Tracker, its market leading VPN client for Mac
OS X. Before the official release date, equinux is inviting experienced VPN
users to test VPN Tracker 5 Beta. To apply for the Beta Program, users can
log on to equinux.com/vpntracker/beta/v5l.html. All applicants will need to
provide equinux with the technical specifications for their VPN setup as
part of the application process.

VPN Tracker improves the workflow for users and administrators

VPN Tracker 5 was redesigned from the ground up to provide compatibility
with Apple’s latest operating system, Mac OS X 10.5. VPN Tracker 5
seamlessly integrates with Mac OS X and guarantees the highest security
level. It offers a new user interface, in addition to its many other
enhancements that improve the workflow to access remote networks, databases
and servers via the internet. VPN Tracker 5 is also able to automatically
process standard tasks like checking for mails, mounting servers and
opening databases with configurable actions. For network administrators,
VPN Tracker 5 offers an automatic roll-out tool for large-scale deployment.

VPN Tracker uses the latest Technology

VPN Tracker 5 was created using Cocoa, Apple’s state-of-the-art development
framework, making the application ready for future improvements on the Mac
OS X platform. Cocoa also allows for smooth interaction with Apple’s
current hardware, thus enabling VPN Tracker 5 to handle data encryption and
authentication much faster over an IPSec based VPN tunnel. What’s more, VPN
Tracker 5 can now handle several VPN connections independently, offering
much desired flexibility for power users.

VPN Tracker is based on the widely recognized IPSec standard and is
compatible with more than 300 devices, including Cisco, Netgear, SonicWALL,
Watchguard, Fortinet and many others. equinux tests devices in its own lab,
to ensure compatibility and provide configuration guides for each tested
device.
