Toon Boom Animation and Boston-based educational media developer
FableVision have announced the expansion and enhancement of its newly
released Animation-ish software for “do-it-yourself” animation. Along
with functional updates, Animation-ish Service Pack 1 expands the
firms’ eLearning offerings to support its growing base of
international users.
Key to the success of Animation-ish, which has received three awards
from parenting and educational publications, is the software’s
“Inspire Me” feature — online animation lessons hosted by New York
Times Best-Selling Children’s Book Author/Illustrator Peter H.
Reynolds (The Dot, Ish, Judy Moody, Someday), along with others
artists and animators at FableVision.
One of the newest lessons demonstrates how to animate a bouncing
ball, which combined with the program’s “Ish-Starters” help even the
most reluctant and creatively-challenged learners. FableVision’s EVP
and Director of Production Gary Goldberger notes, “We didn’t just
create an animation tool — we’re committed to developing a mentoring
relationship with our users — young, old and in between —
especially with people who think they can’t draw.” He adds, “Toon
Boom and FableVision plan to deliver hundreds of lessons over the
next decade to support our user community.”
