collaboration, is extending TeamViewer V4 to Mac users. The latest
version of the browser-based desktop sharing solution such new
features as a partner list and multi-screen presentation function,
engineered to facilitate fast cooperation and information access.
Secure desktop sharing via the web browser is now possible, as well
as cross platform support, to Mac and Windows computers. To gain
access through the web browser, individuals create a TeamViewer
account at http://login.teamviewer.com. Entering their ID name and
password allows users to connect with their partners without
installing anything on their workstations.
TeamViewer V4 sports a partner list. The ID or account name of an
unlimited number of trusted collaborators or remote computers can be
entered and saved on each TeamViewer account. The partner list also
displays the online status of each party, enabling users to connect
to online partners with a mouse click.
Information stored in the partner list is portable and accessible
through each individual TeamViewer account. Once signed in, users are
able to access their partner lists from any public workstation,
through the secure TeamViewer connection.
The browser based function made possible with TeamViewer V4 also
enables multiple participants in each desktop sharing presentation
session. Viewers enter the presenter ID and password at
http://go.teamviewer.com and up to 10 participants may join a
presentation.
Caching and compression performance tuning make TeamViewer V4 even
faster than previous versions, according to Tilo Rossmanith, founder
and director of TeamViewer GmbH. TeamViewer works behind firewalls,
enabling information sharing without compromising computer security.
