Proavio, U.S.A. (http://www.proavio.com), a developer of storage
systems and tools for digital media production, has released their
new FR line of hardware RAID-5 storage solutions with multi-interface
connectivity for the Mac.
Available in both desktop and rack-mountable models, the new FR line
features Proavio’s second generation multi-interface hardware RAID
controller and a new instant RAID initialization process. A control
panel provides complete, real-time control over system parameters
including RAID settings and disk status.
Connectivity options include FireWire 800, FireWire 400, USB 2.0 and
eSATA at 3Gb/second. A dedicated hardware RAID processor reduces
system bottle-necks and provides a reduced rebuild window in the
event of a disk failure. Four hot-swappable SATA disks allow
replacement and capacity upgrades on the fly.
EditBOX EB4FR models are available in capacities up to 4.0TB and
available through authorized dealers world-wide. EB4FR-2.0TB starts
at US$1,105.
