Mariner Software (http://www.marinersoftware.com) has announced t the
pending release of Mariner Paperless 1.0, a rebranded version of the
Mac OS X software, ReceiptWallet, that was acquired by Mariner
earlier this year. Along with this rebranding, all sales, support,
customer service and development is now under the Mariner umbrella.
Mariner Paperless allows users to scan or import receipts and other
varieties of paperwork while optical character recognition (OCR) and
other data entry aids, help recognize and categorize your receipts
and documents as PDFs. Then, built-in search functionality helps you
find and organize receipts and documents into collections, making
paper copies redundant for routine tasks such as record keeping and
bookkeeping.
Michael Wray, president of Mariner Software, says other features of
Mariner Paperless include the ability to: track expenses for tax
purposes; create expense reports to manage business and personal
expenses; create searchable PDF files for owner manuals or important
documents; create Smart Collections that automatically create
collections based on selected criteria; export the text content of
your receipts as a .csv for Microsoft Excel or .qif for Intuit’s
Quicken; secure your data with password protection and encryption;
and keep separate libraries for home and business or multiple
businesses.
Mariner Paperless will be available, for sale and trial, later this
month on the Mariner Software web site. The shipping version, when
available, will initially be offered in English and sell for
US$44.95. All current ReceiptWallet registered customers can receive
a free upgrade by contacting Mariner Software. Support for more
languages is expected in the near future. Mariner Paperless requires
Mac OS 10.4 or higher.
