Zevrix Solutions (http://zevrix.com) has released BatchOutput Server
4.2, an update to its output workflow automation solution for Adobe
InDesign. The software automates printing and exporting to PDF and
PostScript by processing InDesign files from network-based
hotfolders. BatchOutput Server automates, simplifies, and streamlines
output workflows of publishing houses, printers, prepress service
providers and ad agencies. BatchOutput Server can process InDesign
files from both Mac and Windows computers.
BatchOutput Server saves companies countless hours that are lost each
year because operators have to wait for InDesign to print and export
files. With BatchOutput Server, production artists, designers and
prepress operators simply submit InDesign files to hotfolders that
reside on the network. BatchOutput Server automatically outputs the
files from its dedicated station using hotfolder settings, and will
auto-activate document fonts as well. Operator workstations will
never again be tied up by the output process.
Major BatchOutput Server features and benefits include: * Process
InDesign files from hotfolders * Free operator stations from output
process * Use a single set of output settings for entire workgroup *
Font auto-activation
* Export files as single pages
* Update modified links automatically
* Variable output file names
* E-mail notifications of process stages and errors * Monitor
BatchOutput Server from user stations * Detailed logs
The new version allows users to keep entire job folders after output
for further processing, delete all processed files automatically, and
introduces some interface improvements.
BatchOutput Server 4.2 can be purchased from the Zevrix Solutions web
site for $499.95 ( USD), as well as from authorized resellers. Demo
is also available for download. BatchOutput Server is a Universal
Binary and runs on Mac OS X 10.4 and higher.
