Blue Microphones (http://www.bluemic.com), which specializes in
microphone technology and design, has introduced the Eyeball 2.0, its
next generation web camera with a built-in microphone. Featuring a
higher-quality lens and 2-megapixel camera, Eyeball 2.0 is a
plug-and-play webcam with professional-class, digital audio,
according to William Merchan, vice president, Sales, Blue Microphones.
The Eyeball 2.0 sports a resolution at 1600 x 1200 pixels and an
optical sensor. It features driverless installation for plug-and-play
use with either Mac or PC systems. Its camera-off privacy position
allows the HD lens to retract into the high-fidelity microphone unit.
You can position the webcam thanks to its design and rubber monitor
adapter.
The Eyeball 2.0 has a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of
US$79.99. It’s available at Amazon.com, Apple retail stores and Fry’s
Electronics stores.
Also available now, Blue’s wired condenser microphone, Snowball, is
getting a new look. The Snowball is now offered in sleek brushed
aluminum and gloss black designs for $99.99. The new designs will be
available in Apple retail stores, Best Buy and online at Amazon.com.
