Amazon says the iPad has helped boost its own e-reader, after Kindle sales rose every month since its rival’s launch in May, reports the “London Evening Standard” (http://macosg.me/2/l1).
“The iPad has made more people aware of e-readers,” says Brian McBride, managing director of Amazon in the UK. “We’re selling more Kindles, which means we’re selling more Kindle books. Even when people buy iPads, they are downloading the Kindle app in pretty significant numbers. For every 100 hardbacks we’ve sold in the past three months, we’ve sold 143 Kindle books.”
