Netflix is now offering its free Netflix App for iPhone and iPod touch, allowing Netflix members on plans starting at US$8.99 a month to instantly watch a vast selection of TV episodes and movies streamed to their iPhone or iPod touch at no additional cost.
Hairy Monster Studios has announced Save Betsy 1.0, an US$0.99 game for the iPhone and iPod touch. It’s best described as Doodle Jump for meat lovers. The game challenges players to help Betsy the cow escape from the Vegan Meat Co. by jumping up on stationary, moving and breakable platforms that become harder and harder to navigate as the player gets higher. Save Betsy has built in Facebook integration so you can brag about your scores along with local and global leader boards.
Rock Soft has released Show Time 1.0, a $0.99 alarm clock app for the iPhone and iPod touch. It has 58 clock themes and variations. Show Time allows you to wake up to your own playlist or eight built-in alarms. It also has 25 built-in Ambient Noise sounds to fall asleep to or choose your favorite playlist.
Renkara Media Group has introduced iComedian Best Bar Jokes 1.0 for the iPhone and iPod touch. The free app is the first in the iComedian series of joke collections with professionally recorded audio presentations of each joke. When appropriate, joke-specific background music and laugh tracks are included.
Scott Gruber has unveiled ShapeEffects Lite 1.0, a free version of their composite drawing app for the iPad. It offers a way to create composite works of art from a list of 13 pre-defined shapes and a variety of colors. You also have control over the translucency of the shapes fill color and border color, independently. When done, you can take a snapshot of your masterpiece that will put your art in the Photos app.
The Almighty Bible is a new Bible series that combines the fastest growing book format for young people (graphic novels) with the newest technology (iPads and iPhones), creating a Bible for today’s kids and teens. The first book in the series, Genesis, sports a concise storyline complemented by dramatic illustrations. It’s a notification application that automatically alerts a pre-determined person or group of people of the sender’s trip status and estimated time of arrival (ETA). The application will automatically send new alerts to contacts if the user’s ETA changes while they’re en route to the meeting location.
Leostream Corp. a developer of virtual hosted desktop software, and HLW Software Development, a developer of iOS remote desktop software and providers of IT consulting services, will team up to deliver virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) support for the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. The solution adds a component of the Leostream Connection Broker to the iTap remote desktop clients, enabling access to Windows and Linux virtual desktops from the Apple mobile devices.

Lovatts Interactive has announced GO! Word Power 1.0.1, a $1.99, language-based trivia game for the iPhone, iPod, and iPad. It combines game play with educational content to expand the user’s daily lexicon and has over 3,000 language-based quiz questions.
