Canon USA (http://www.usa.canon.com) has added four new imageClass laser printers to its lineup of small office and home office solutions. The new Color imageClass LBP7200cdn and imageClass LBP6650dn/LBP6300dn/LBP6000 black-and-white laser printers mark the entry of the imageCLASS brand into the U.S. single-function printer market.

The new Color imageClass LBP7200Cdn laser printer is designed for networked office environments that wish to perform high-quality color printing in-house, according to Jim Rosetta, vice president and general manager, Imaging Systems Group, Canon U.S.A. Also available are a variety of efficiency-boosting features including duplex print, a 15 second first print time and advanced features such as toner save mode, booklet mode, poster mode and watermark printing.

Handling paper sizes up to legal, the Color imageClass LBP7200Cdn features a 250-sheet cassette plus 50-sheet multipurpose tray, with an optional 250-sheet paper cassette available for higher volume use. The LBP7200Cdn delivers print speeds of up to 21 pages per minute (ppm) in both color-and-black and white and utilizes d imaging technologies such as Auto Gradation Adjustment and Pure Black technology. The Color imageClass LBP7200Cdn laser printer will be available starting in November through authorized Canon resellers at a manufacturer’s suggested price of US$699.

Targeting small businesses and home office users, Canon’s imageClass LBP6650dn (35 ppm) and LBP6300dn (30 ppm) support standard networking and duplexing, offer advanced features such as toner save mode, booklet mode, poster mode and watermark printing and provide s usability during installation and use. Standard paper handling includes a 250-sheet front-loading cassette with a 50-sheet multipurpose tray, as well as an optional 500-sheet cassette for extended print capacity. First prints arrive in just six seconds or less.

The imageClass LBP6650dn adds support for PCL 5e/6 and PS Level 3 emulation, a 16-character LCD control panel, and a duty cycle of 50,000 pages per month (compared with 25,000 on the LBP6300dn). Support for Mac OS X and Citrix MetaFrame is standard on the LBP6650dn, with the latter supported for the first time by an imageCLASS product.

The imageClass LBP6650dn/LBP6300dn laser printers are scheduled to be available starting in November for $599 and $499, respectively.

With a compact, space-saving footprint, the imageClass LBP6000 delivers 19 pages per minute and first prints of approximately eight seconds. Advanced print modes include toner saver, poster and watermark. The LBP6000 uses 1.3 watts of energy consumption in sleep mode, supports a 150-sheet cassette as standard and fits on a home office desk. It’s due to be available starting in November for $249.
