Ticonderoga analyst Brian White says in a note to clients — as reported by “Barron’s (http://blogs.barrons.com/techtraderdaily/2010/11/29/apple-stores-jammed-thanksgiving-weekend-says-ticonderoga/?mod=yahoobarrons) — that Apple retail stores in his neighborhood were crowded “well past the the Black Friday sale and into Sunday evening.”
He thinks the buzz was strongest for the iPad discount (US$41 off), and that that product probably outperformed others on Friday. Consumers appear intrigued by the MacBook Air and that unit probably also did very well, White said.
