Apple has updated its free universal Remote application for iOS devices, bringing support for several new features including controlling AirPlay content pushed from iTunes on a user’s computer to an Apple TV, as well as controlling Internet radio in iTunes.
One Man Left Studios has announced a paid expansion for its Tilt to Live for iOS devices, called Viva la Turret. Available as an in-app purchase, users can access a new weapon, the Perforator turret, and a new game type called Viva la Turret. Tilt to Live is an arcade shooter with a combat system. While this expansion only applies to the iPhone version of the game, an iPad adaptation is also in the works. Viva la Turret is available as an in-app purchase for US$0.99. Tilt to Live 1.6 is $2.99.
Stewart Malcolm has released Fuel Smart UK 3.0 for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad users. The $0.59 app locates petrol stations and displays their fuel prices. The app is a collaboration of user community input and database listings from WhatGas.com and is subscription and ad free.
Nate Games has introduced Escape the Room 2 for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. A sequel to the developer’s popular original title of the same name, this $4.99 game charges users with collecting secrets and hints en route to figuring out how to successfully escape from a serious of ominously themed rooms.
Papa’s Frog has unveiled Helping Toto the Puppy 1.5. Created specifically for the iPad, this $0.99 app represents a re-imagined and enhanced improvement on its predecessor of the same name. Helping Toto the Puppy 1.5 is an interactive children’s storybook where young users actively participate throughout the story by drawing and completing various tasks to nurture Toto the Puppy back to health.
IK Multimedia has served up a new version of AmpliTube for the mobile guitarist and bassist: AmpliTube 2 for iPad. This new version of the $19.99 app has many new features designed to streamline and enhance the mobile guitar and bass playing experience: from the creation and naming of guitar signal chain tone presets to importing, recording and exporting audio. Players will hear the difference in the improved sounds of the gear models, and more importantly, record their performances quickly and easily with the new built-in recorder, according to the folks at IK Multimedia.
Directed Electronics has announced the availability of a new feature on its free Viper SmartStart app that allows users to pinpoint exactly where they parked their car. The feature, SmartPark, notes a vehicle’s location every time the user presses the door lock button in the Viper SmartStart app.
